Hello, Chitra. Patrick Dougherty sends his greetings. You are right that his piece at the San Francisco Civic Center is a bit different. It actually rolls along the tops of a number of pollarded sycamore trees, so it is the live sycamores that will leaf out and change with the seasons. The sculpture itself is composed of harvested willow, but was interwoven with the trees in such a way as to allow their leafing out to become part of the sculpture. The work is two hundred feet long along its meandering path.

First of all, I want to indroduce myself. My name is Carlos Garrido Castellano, I´m an art historian and critic from Granada, in Spain. Now I´m working on a thesis project about Contemporary Indian Art, focusing on the last two decades. I´m writting you for asking if I could send you some question about your work, your oppinion about Contemporary Indian Art Scene,... I was living in Hyderabad the last year, now Í´ve come back to Spain, and for my studies is very important to know how artist are seeing the evolution of Indian art issues.
